U.S. Air Force Band Of Flight Performs Concert for "those Magnificent Flyers"
Art Exhibit at The Air Force Museum

Dayton, Ohio
August 13, 2003

The U.S. Air Force Band of Flight will perform a FREE concert to celebrate the opening of the new aviation art exhibit, "Those Magnificent Flyers," at the Air Force Museum, August 26 at 7:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the unveiling of 58 original paintings by James Dietz, the Band of Flight will play a one-hour concert highlighting the music of the era, with a focus on the four big American musical influences of the time: John Philip Sousa, George M. Cohan, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin. The band will also perform Dixieland music, popular at the time, and music from Ohio's own "March King" from Cincinnati, Henry Fillmore. As a special tribute, George M. Cohan's "Over There Fantasy" will be performed while the Dietz art images are projected for the audience on large screens.

This special concert will be held in the Museum's Modern Flight Hangar and is open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. for open seating and no tickets are required.
