Centennial Of Flight Events On NASA Television

December 15, 2003

Events celebrating the Centennial of Flight Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, will be carried live by satellite and rebroadcast on NASA Television throughout the day.

Live television coverage of events from Kitty Hawk, N.C. begins at 9:30 a.m. EST on Telstar K5, Transponder 25. The signal is located 97 degrees west longitude with a downlink frequency of 12146.00 MHz. Audio is 6.20 and 6.80 MHz.

Because of a scheduled in-flight event with the Expedition 8 crew on board the International Space Station, the early Centennial of Flight event will not be carried live on NASA TV. However, NASA is providing coverage from Kitty Hawk, N.C., on Telstar K5.

A second live event is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. EST and will be carried on both Telstar K5 and NASA TV. NASA TV is available on AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-Band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
