The Richard Pearse Centenary of Flight will
celebrate 100 years of powered flight, and the
achievements of Richard Pearse, New Zealand's first
aviator. The celebrations will culminate to the day
with the centennial of Richard Pearse's first
flight. Feature highlights will be a two-day grand
air pageant, followed by the first flight
celebrations including a re-enactment of Pearse's
first attempt in a specially built replica. Days 1
and 2 are at the Airport. Day 3 is a special
celebration at Waitohi Main Road, Waitohi, South
Canterbury. |
