Chavez used Blériot plane to fly over Alps

A Bl‚riot monoplane was also used to make the first airplane flight over the Alps. On September 23, 1910, Peruvian pilot Georges Chavez flew at an altitude of over 6,000 feet from Switzerland to Italy to claim a prize of 60,000 lire.
